Separation of minerals in jigging machines is based on the fact that particles will stratify in pulsating water. The upward and downward currents fluidize and compact the grains into relatively homogenous layers. Low density pieces stratify on the surface, while specifically heavy grains settle to the lower level of the bed.

The air jig for mineral separation operates reliably and economically. The feed material is fluidized by means of pulsating water. The particles stratify according to their density while specifically heavy grains settle to the lower level of the jig. The air jig machines are designed for throughput rates of 5t/h to 700t/h per machine. Size ranges from 150mm to less than 1mm are efficiently separated, concentrated and cleaned.
